ND Representative Kelly Armstrong on DEI: programs "are actively abused and don't have a place in government"

(Fargo, ND) -- North Dakota Congressman and gubernatorial candidate Kelly Armstrong is indicating his position on programs that backers say promote diversity, equity and inclusion.

"Very little that I've seen that actually don't promote equity at the end instead of equality at the beginning. I think the reality whether it's government, I mean any private business can do whatever they want. I'm not going to tell them to, but no, I think for the most part those programs are actively abused and don't have a place in government," said Armstrong.

Armstrong said DEI is "pro touchy-feely liberal ideology more so than it's anti-anything" and said "equality is something we should all strive for."

He made the comments while appearing on WDAY Mid Day.
