(Bismarck, ND) -- The funding concerns surrounding the North Dakota retirement system have been validated by its 46-million-dollar shortfall.
The North Dakota Monitor says a recent analysis of the Highway Pension Plan presented to lawmakers shows the retirement system needs an additional 46-point-three-million-dollars from the Legislature to be funded at 100-percent.
Currently the pension plan is about 68-percent funded and without additional money it would be only 60-percent funded in about 20 years.
